A holiday in Sattal--- a group of seven lakes set against a backdrop of oak and pine trees beyond which tower the Himalayas is about  bonding with your family combined with the grand taste of a wildlife escapade. To get the full flavour of Sattal, get adventurous.
The seven lakes that comprise Sattal are at around 4,000 ft in Nainital District. It is 12 km from Bhimtal ,23 km from Nainital and 330 km from Delhi.
Sattal is a trekker's paradise. With thick forest cover, there are both explored and unexplored paths for you to follow. Mountain climbing, rappelling, river crossing, rambling, fishing and mountain biking are some of your other options. And then of course, there are campfires and barbecues in the cool or hilly natural outdoors to add to the fun.
Sattal is located at a little above 4,000 ft, has an equable weather more or less throughout the year, except in peak winter, and is ideal for a camping holiday.
Getting There:
The nearest railstation is Kathgodam. Taxi charge Rs 450-850.
Delhi Transport Corporation runs buses to Kathgodam from ISBT Anand Vihar.
